The third Piano Day is here!

On Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017, Silver Lake College of the Holy Family is hosting its third annual Piano Day for pianists from grades 5-12, along with their teachers and parents. You can register for the entire day or choose activities in which you would like to participate. The event participation fee is $20 or $10 for those who attend the Varshavski & Shapiro Piano Duo Performance (part of the Artist Music Series) on Friday, Nov. 10, 2017. Discounts will be taken at the door. 

Part of the day includes a competition for high school students with prizes including a Music Merit Scholarship to attend Silver Lake College of the Holy Family (pending full acceptance into the Silver Lake College of the Holy Family). 

Piano Day Schedule

  • 8:30 a.m. Registration opens, practice rooms open for warm-up
  • 9 a.m. to noon Competition for high school students (grades 8 - 12). Professional evaluation and feedback. Monetary prizes available ($100 –Grand Prize; $50 – First Runner-Up; $25 – Second Runner-Up) and the potential for Music Merit Scholarships.
  • Noon to 1 p.m. Campus tour and lunch (provided courtesy of the Office of Admissions)
  • 1 to 5 p.m. Master classes for high school and middle school students (grades 5-12)
  • 5 to 6 p.m. Dinner (available for purchase in the campus cafeteria)
  • 6:30 to 8 p.m. Students’ recital
